general behavior.

remember the golden rule. we want everyone to be respectful and act mature. that means no name-calling and don’t be outright rude. if you have an issue with another member, you need to settle it over PM or you need to tell a staff member and we’ll settle it for you.

also, let’s not spam or be trolls. this kind of falls under the respect rule, but just don’t do it. don’t spam the c-box, don’t spam people with your questions, and don’t get on here just for the purpose of making people angry. if you have an issue you need to just let somebody know and they’ll help you work it out instead of being – to put it bluntly – a pain.

creating your character.

when you register, we don't care what your username is. however, once you've decided on a name for your character you need to change your display name to the full name in all lowercase letters. you’ve also got to fill out your application. make sure you follow all directions and post it in the correct board with your character’s full name, same as your username. if you’re posting it before it’s finished, you need to put ‘work in progress’ as part of your thread title.

after you’ve been accepted you need to post in the claims. don’t forget about your graphics. signatures are optional but they look nice as long as they aren’t too tall and don’t stretch the boards. also, an avatar is required. the width needs to be between about 100 and 150, but the height can't be larger than 250.

on to content. that’s kind of a touchy subject. basically, your characters can do whatever as long as you follow the rest of the rules and don’t give us the dirty details. that’s very nice that your characters are having great sex but we’d rather not know every detail of how great it is.

posting.

we haven’t got a specific rule on word counts. that is, there’s no minimum. However, we do have standards. the longer the better and if your partner gives you a good, long post you need to return that. it’s not nice to get this well-written 600 word post and then give them 150. so please, make a little effort and don’t write anything too short.

also, god modding is a big no-no. if you’re going to have the other person’s character do something you need to run that by them first. and if someone isn’t asking first before having your character do something big, let us know and we will say something. don’t be shy, that stuff can be annoying.

activity.

there isn’t too much of an activity rule. just log in once a month and you’re good to go. if it’s been longer than a month and we haven’t seen you, we’ll move you to the character archives and you lose your playby. if you come back, though, don’t worry. we’ll put your profile back and if you’re lucky your playby won’t have been taken by anyone.

a note about the archives.

when you’re done with a thread, it’s moved to the archives to keep things organized. just PM a staff member to let us know and we’ll move it there. if you’ve got a plot going that you want to keep track of we’d also be happy to make you a sub-board to keep all your threads organized. if you want one, just let us know. we’ll give it a specific name for you or it could just be you and your partner/group’s names.
