( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -That morning, Caitlyn woke up to something licking her face. She opened her eyes, two pair of eyes stared back at her. Instead of screaming like a normal person, she scratched the furry creature from behind the ears. "Hey, Chip." she explained, and Chip, a mixed mutt, wagged his tail. When they were in the progress of moving to Hollywood, Caitlyn had the choice of bringing an animal with her and her mother. Since chickens and horses were out of the question, she chose Chip, a dog that she recused from the streets. Ever since, Chip has been protective of Caitlyn and her mother. Chip barked, and hopped down from her bed, allowing Caitlyn to get out. Caitlyn smiled, and walked out of her room, and Chip was following her. Every morning, she checks on her mother, and see if she was doing alright. The divorce has hit Caitlyn hard, but the divorce hit Mrs. Zimmerman even more. But, Mrs. Zimmerman was getting better.
Caitlyn knocked on her mother's door, and when there was no asnswer, she and Chip went in. Sitting in her bed was Caitlyn's mom, and Caitlyn smiled. "Hey, mom. How are you?" she asked. Mrs. Zimmerman looked at her daughter, and she gave Caitlyn a small smile. "You don't have to check up on me all the time, Cait. I'm fine." Caitlyn walked over to her mother's bed, and she sat down. "I know. I just worry about you sometimes." Caitlyn told her sadly. Mrs. Zimmerman shook her head. "Isn't the worrying part of my job? My nineteen-year old daughter does not have to worry about her mother." Caitlyn laughed, and she got off of the bed. "I'm going to explore Hollywood a little bit today. See what's out there." Caitlyn said, and Mrs. Zimmerman smiled. "That's nice, honey. Have fun." Caitlyn nodded. "I will." After getting dressed, and doing her normal morning routine, she went downstairs to grab something to eat when something caught her eye. Grabbing it, she frowned when she saw it was a letter from her father. The last time she heard from him, he had started a new family, and never bothered to tell Mrs. Zimmerman. Caitlyn scowled, and crumpled it up, and threw it into the trash. She could care less about what her father wrote. Caitlyn picked up her skate-board, and headed outside into the California weather.
Caitlyn loved skate-boarding. It made her feel free, and less trapped if she was riding a bus, or a car. She first learned how to skate-board by her cousin, Brandon. Caitlyn had so many cuts and bruises that her mother forced her to stop skate-boarding until the cuts and bruises went away. But, Caitlyn had became such a pro at skate-boarding, and Brandon was impressed, so he gave her a skater name, which was "Zimmer", the first part of her last name. After skate-boarding a few blocks, Caitlyn decided to sit down on a random bench, and watched other people.

----------
Landon had no earthly idea what possessed him to wake up so early in the morning, but he was in the kitchen at eight in the morning starting a cup of coffee for himself with a piece of toast in one hand and an empty mug in the other one, where he was toying with the handle of the cup while he waited for his coffee to brew. He actually wasn't quite sure what to do with himself so early in the day; no good shows were on, he wasn't booked for any photo shoots, no auditions, no work shift until six...Landon frowned slightly, jolting slightly when the coffee maker beeped, signaling that it was done. He reached for the pot and poured steaming coffee into the mug, finishing his toast as he set the mug down and walked to the freezer to get a few ice cubes out of the freezer to cool his drink down.
It had actually been a long time since he hadn't really had anything to do for an entire day; Hollywood was a busy city, full of people to see and things to do. Unfortunately, because of this, Landon was almost always too busy to make plans, and when he didn't have plans, his friends did. He could always go for a walk, but there's not much he hadn't seen. In fact, after arriving three years prior to today, he had been through the city so many times he could probably give you directions to anywhere you wanted to go without looking at a map -- just pulling them right off the top of his head. Not that many people asked him for directions, of course. Whatever.
Finishing his coffee in silence, Landon sighed, relinquishing his apprehension and heading out of the front door of his home, into the summer air for a walk.

He wasn't entirely sure how long he had been out there before he saw her; he just knew that he was getting hot and he shouldn't have worn jeans that day and he was sweating like a pig and probably didn't look very attractive like that. But, even in his annoyance, he couldn't help but stop for a moment to stare at the girl on a bench in Sunset Strip, wondering if he really recognized her or if his eyes were playing tricks on him. Deciding to take a chance and stepping closer, he grinned when he realized that, yes, it was her -- Caitlyn Zimmerman, a girl that he had met at an audition a couple days back.
"I knew I recognized you," he said as he approached her from behind, possibly startling her, "You're the girl who promised to teach me how to skateboard and never did. Tsk, tsk." He grinned, swinging his leg over the bench and sitting down next to her, "How have you been? I see you're still skateboarding."

( hey, soul sister ) ( ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Caitlyn laughed when she heard his voice. She met Landon at a audition, and needless to say, while everyone else had kept their distance from her, Landon walked up to her, and started to talk to her. Caitlyn knew she had everyone's eyes on her and Landon, because come on, let's face it: the guy was hot! Caitlyn smiled, and she looked at him. "Hollywood's not that big. I'm pretty sure you'd recongize me. I'm probably the only Mexican-slash-Italian girl out here." Caitlyn stated. When she was younger, she wanted to be blonde and blue eyed, like every girl seemed to be. But, her mother told her she was perfectly fine the way she was. And she was right: when she got older, she learned to appericate her roots. "I've been good. Still trying to find a role, though." she said, biting her lower lip. It seems like every director wanted someone different: someone that wasn't her, it seems. "How about you?" she asked him.
Her eyes brighten. "I'm still skate-boarding, and I haven't forgotten about my promise. I can still teach you, if you want. I mean, if you're still up for it." she replied, tapping her board with her foot. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -( the way you move ain't fair, you know ) ( tag ) landon ( words ) 210, baby!
